Kanniyarkali is an offering made to the Goddess and is staged in eastern regions of palakkad like thathamangalam,koduvayoor,palashenna,kuthannur,
kozhalmannam,Nenmara,Pallavuur,etc.Bakhthi oriented lyrics are constituted from famous legends or epics.

This artform presented by men whose attire comprises a kasavu mundu waistbelt of dhothi & a turban.The Dancers enter the NINE LEGGED PANDHAL with rhythmic steps and the starting play is "THALAVATTOM".After NAMASKARAM thottams & keerthanams are sung accompanied by temple instruments like CHENDA,ELATHALAM,CHENGALA and MADHALAM and the dancers dance in accordance with the THALAM.
